As begins the story of many couples in the last 10 years, we met online — frankly, the only place to find love during the global pandemic in 2020. Not being able to connect in person, we bonded for quite some time over the phone discussing our rural roots, shared values, and hopes for the future.
After seven months of endless hours spent talking, long conversations, and laughter, we finally met in person — and quickly discovered that our connection was just as strong face-to-face. From farming and faith to travel and university life, we found countless ways our lives aligned.
In 2024, we purchased our first home together and settled on Justin’s family farm, embracing a life rooted in love and the land. We now share that home with our beloved dog, Nahla, who’s never far from our side.
On June 15, 2025 with the wind and the waves at Inverhuron Provincial Park, Justin proposed and Shaylan said yes! Now, we’re so excited to begin the next chapter of our story surrounded by those we love most. On April 11, 2026 we will tie the knot and celebrate the life we have created. We want to thank everyone who has supported our relationship over the last five years!
